Data Deletion Instructions

Your Right to Data Deletion

At Darlington and Exped, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information from our systems at any time. This page explains how you can request data deletion and what to expect during the process.

What Data We Store

When you create an account or make a purchase, we may store the following information:

  • Account information (name, email address, username)
  • Profile information (phone number, shipping address)
  • Order history and transaction records
  • Wishlist and shopping preferences
  • Loyalty points balance and transaction history
  • Authentication data from social login providers (Facebook)

How to Request Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your personal data through any of the following methods:

Option 1: Email Request

Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Email address associated with your account
  • Any additional information to help us identify your account

Option 2: Contact Form

Visit our Support page and submit a data deletion request through our contact form. Select "Privacy & Data" as the inquiry type.

Option 3: Account Settings

If you have an active account, you can log in and navigate to your Profile settings to request account deletion directly from your dashboard.

Facebook Login Data Deletion

If you signed up or logged in using Facebook, you can also request data deletion through Facebook:

  1. Go to your Facebook Settings & Privacy > Settings
  2. Click on "Apps and Websites" in the left sidebar
  3. Find "Darlington Socks" in the list of apps
  4. Click "Remove" to revoke access and request data deletion

When you remove our app from Facebook, we will receive a deletion request and process it according to our data deletion policy.

What Happens After You Request Deletion

Once we receive your data deletion request:

  • Confirmation: We will send you an email confirming receipt of your request within 48 hours.
  • Verification: We may contact you to verify your identity to protect against unauthorized deletion requests.
  • Processing: Your data will be permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days.
  • Backup Systems: Data in backup systems will be deleted within 90 days.
  • Completion Notice: We will notify you when the deletion process is complete.

Data We May Retain

In some cases, we may be required to retain certain information for legal, regulatory, or business purposes:

  • Transaction records required for tax and accounting purposes
  • Records necessary to comply with legal obligations
  • Information needed to resolve disputes or enforce our terms
  • Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you

We will inform you if any of your data falls under these exceptions during the deletion process.
